Happy New Year

 Happy New Year strummers all.

2022 has been a strange year for us as we leave the ravages of Covid.  Our gigs have been fewer than in pre-tcovid times, probably due to the care homes being ultra cautious or personnel changes in their staff.  We may need to reintroduce ourselves to various venues.  We did manage a number of outside venues - village fairs and such like through the year and have a few return bookings on the back of them.  The two Christmas gigs that had to be cancelled due to the snow have been rescheduled and we have Coronation and May Fair gigs already booked.

We have still managed to raise over £1,000 pounds in 2022 which be handed over to Hospice at Home Volunteers in due course.  During the year Jeremy has aquired a new bit of electronic kit for taking 'tap' donations from bank cards which has yet to see serious use.

We have welcomed into the gang a number of new players which has been nice, especially as some folk have not returned after the covid restrictions.  As we have a number of members who are in the 'at risk' category, and we're mostly condemned by age, all in all we've been very lucky through the pandemic. Folk were serious about taking necessary precautions and generally nothing much got passed on by our contact with each other.

Our repertoir has grown away from the 'music hall' and through some strange and devious route has become more representative of the music we grew up with and more contemporary.  (Some of the lyrics are beyond understanding but the tunes are fun).

So here we are on the threshold of 2023 still up and running and still som fuel in our tanks.  Roll on the New Year.
